Abstract

The development of materials for stable and reversible Li plating/stripping has gained more attention nowadays due to the possibility of exchanging the graphitic negative electrode in batteries for metallic lithium. However, searches have been indiscriminate for the type of metal battery in development. For instance, using a conventional positive electrode, sulfur or an oxygen positive electrode has a great impact on the electrolyte the cell will house. Therefore, there is a need to develop electrolytes that guarantee the dendrite-free Li plating/stripping, but it is also in line with the positive electrode it will be used.(AU)
