Abstract

This scientific initiation fellowship seeks to investigate the relationships between public spaces and children and adolescents, as well as analyze how violence affects it. For this, a case study will be carried out in the district of Parelheiros, south of the city of São Paulo, considering the demographic profile and the urban pattern that makes up the diverse local infrastructure. Literature reviews, surveys, questionnaires, and analyzes will be carried out, prior to March 2020 until the present time, on how public spaces were and are appropriated by children and adolescents, as well as how violence has impacted this appropriation from the pre-pandemic context. This research will allow the evaluation of inequality in the use of spaces such as public roads, squares, parks and gardens, and other public places and the way that children and adolescents who recode the use of these spaces, resulting in a greater understanding of social risks and forms of protection to the juvenile population.(AU)
