Abstract

It is generally accepted that Konstantin Stanislvsy's last period of work (1935 - 1938) is the synthesis of his life-long theatrical searches. Nevertheless, the evidence previously found at the Moscow Art Theatre Museum Archives suggests that the Russian master's work in the 1930s was something else: a new and radical paradigmatic change in performance structures. This change was never completed, though, for after Stanislavsky's death in 1938 the official Soviet theatre took hold also of his last laboratory. This project aims at obtaining funding for an Internship Abroad (BEPE) in order to research primary sources on the period kept at different archives in Russia, Europe and the United States. (AU)
