Abstract

This internship proposal abroad is linked to the research project entitled "The capture of land rents in medium-sized cities: Analysis from real estate securitization" (process nº: 2021/00714-0), which aims to analyze the processes of real estate financialization and securitization using one of its instruments, the Certificates of Real Estate Receivables (CRI). The project proposes the analysis of these processes and instruments from the point of view of medium-sized cities, highlighting the performance of Caixa Econômica Federal and the Severance Indemnity Fund, considered here as the main players in real estate securitization in the country. Thus, the Internship and Research and Abroad Scholarship (BEPE) project aims to: a) become aware of the bibliography and participate more directly in international debates on the subject; b) analyze and understand the main differences and similarities between the processes of financialization and real estate securitization in Brazil and Mexico, emphasizing the particularities that such processes gain in different socioeconomic and socio-spatial realities and, c) allow the student to enter a network of international research through participation in research groups and international publications.
