Abstract

The decrease in sleep time is harmful to physical and mental health, with adverse repercussions on the daily functioning of the body and quality of life. Thus, the search for resources to improve sleep includes the use of mobile health (mHealth) applications. Objective: to conduct a systematic investigation of mHealth applications for monitoring sleep time in Brazilian online stores, in addition to evaluating the engagement, functionality, aesthetics, and quality of information of these applications. Methods: a systematic review will be carried out on mobile applications related to sleep monitoring, available in the Google Play Store online stores and the App Store in Brazil developed or updated between 2020-2022. The recommendations proposed by Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) will be followed in the review and the protocol will be registered in the International Prospective Register of Systematic Reviews (PROSPERO). The Mobile App Rating Scale (MARS) will be used to evaluate the applications. The results will be systematized and the data analysis will be performed descriptively. Expected results: it is expected to identify the applications available to count the hours of sleep, describe their main characteristics, and evaluate the functionality and quality of these applications.(AU)
