Abstract

The importance of organic matter influencing the behavior of chemical elements in soil and sediments is highlighted in the scientific literature, especially in relation to the elements iron and aluminum. The focus of the present project is to verify the relationships between the main elements (Si, Mg, Ca, Na, K, Al and Fe) observed in the soils around lagoons with saline-alkaline waters and in the sediments inside the lagoons located in the Nhecolândia region, Pantanal (MS), Brazil and total carbon. The research is part of the thematic project "CLIMATIC CHANGES AND ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACTS IN WETLANDS OF PANTANAL REGION (BRAZIL): QUANTIFICATION, CONTROL FACTORS AND LONG TERM TEMPORAL MODELING" (FAPESP Process: 2016/14227-5)", specifically in the action 2 "Genesis and dynamics of the soil-lagoons system of the Pantanal.
