Abstract

The understanding of electro-osmotic flows is a tool of great importance for fields such as microfluidics and biochemistry. Solving the viscoelastic electro-osmotic Navier Stokes equations, which model fluid behavior during this phenomenon, poses many challenges, given that the constitutive models are non-newtonian. The case of biphasic or multiphasic flows adds even more complexity. This project aims to use the HiG-Flow system, a complex geometry and refinement-adaptable hierarchical grid platform, to simulate these processes numerically and analyze the results, comparing them with the literature.
