Abstract

The activities of students will be together with the post-doc students of the BECOOL project, helping in part of the necessary functions. All activities are related to marine invertebrates that will be collected from whale bones and wooden blocks. The student of this project will participate in field sampling, if possible, and sort organisms from the most abundant groups. In addition, the student will learn molecular biology techniques by helping in the extraction and analysis of the genetic material of these selected individuals. During these activities, the student will participate in the dynamics of the Deep Sea Laboratory, learning to carry out bibliographic reviews and write scientific texts, fulfilling the main objectives of a Scientific Initiation Scholarship.(AU)
