Abstract The thrust of the proposal is the development of a new method. The research project will try to develop a numerical renormalization-group (NRG) procedure targeting time-dependent properties for simple models describing quantum dots coupled to electron gases. The formalism will exploit general properties of a continuous renormalization-group transformation distilled from the discrete transformation defining the NRG method. Two applications are envisioned. In the first one, the time-dependent photoemission current in three simple systems will be computed. The second application will explore a variation of a recently proposed real-space formulation of the numerical renormalization-group method to study a non-equilibrium transport problem. | |
