Abstract

The COVID-19 disease became a worldwide problem in 2020. In November 2021, Brazil had more than 21 million confirmed cases and more than 610,000 deaths from the disease. People's way of life has changed and has had several consequences for the physical and emotional health of the global population. SARS-CoV-2 virus infection can affect the central nervous system as well as other respiratory viruses. Currently, studies are being carried out to observe the possible effects and sequelae over time, especially with regard to the neuropsychiatric field, but it is still unclear how this can happen. Considering its impact on people's psychological aspects, it is plausible that SARS-CoV-2 infection may influence the sleep pattern and the prevalence and intensity of climacteric symptoms. Therefore, this study will assess whether there were changes in sleep quality and climacteric symptoms in postmenopausal women after SARS-CoV-2 infection.(AU)
