Abstract

In Ti alloys, the combination of high mechanical strength and low elastic modulus is possible by controlling their phase transformations, applying appropriate heat treatments. This work aims to evaluate the microstructure and properties of the Ti-15Nb alloy obtained by arc melting and by additive manufacturing using the "in-situ alloying" concept. It is intended to analyze the formation of martensite in these alloys and compare the microstructures and properties obtained from both forms of processing.
