Abstract

This project focuses on indigenous social movements in Brazil from a design perspective. This type of language has contributed to giving greater visibility to the indigenous cause inside and outside the country, both in terms of main agendas and significant dates for the movement. Along with other efforts in digital media, indigenous activist design has gained strength through some actors, such as the Mídia NINJA activist design front, but also in the individual figure of activists, artists and designers. As a method, we intend to map the movement from Instagram and observe strategies in the language of design, dynamics of action, and repercussions in traditional media. As a result, we hope to better understand the phenomenon, in order to highlight the importance of indigenous activist design in the Brazilian sociopolitical context.(AU)
