Abstract

The present master's research aims to investigate the processuality of the forms of use of space and the transformations of territorialized social practices in Ferrazópolis, located in the municipality of São Bernardo do Campo, prioritizing in our analysis the point of view of the families who live there. Articulating empirical research and theoretical problematizations based mainly on the critical theory of the value-dissociation, we seek to analyze the qualitative changes in the link between family and work since the 1990s, a period marked mainly by the process of productive restructuring in the automobile industry, interpreted here as a moment of fundamental crisis of the expanded reproduction of capital and the asselment of the commodity-producing patriarchy. We start from the hypothesis that Ferrazópolis is a territorial expression of this redefinition of the nexus between family and work in its critical sense, inquiring about the contradictions made explicit or obscured there.
