Abstract

Different physical and behavioral responses can be produced after performing strenuous physical exercises. In this sense, thinking of a strategy to minimize the harmful effects of this type of physical exercise, it is believed that attenuating probiotic supplementation can alter cognitive functions, mood, sleep and modulate the type of exercise in people after exercise. marathon. Thus, the aim of the present study is to evaluate the effect of Lactobacillus Acidophilus and Bifidobacterium Lactis probiotic supplementation on cognitive function, mood, sleep, metabolism and intestinal microbiota after the Marathon race. The sample of the present study will be composed of 30 male participants, aged between 20 and 40 years, randomized into two groups: Placebo Group - GP (n=15) and Supplementation Group - GS (n=15). The protocol of strenuous physical exercise will be carried out through a marathon test. Both GP and GS groups will be supplemented 30 days before the race with probiotics and placebo. As blood draws, grades, estimates of cognitive functions, including tests of memory and attention and executive functions, the mood state will be carried out. The normality of the data will be by the Shapiro-Wilk or Kolmogorov-Smirnov tests. The descriptive analysis will be performed using the mean ± standard deviation. Two-way variance ANOVA tests were performed to compare groups and times, followed by post hocc tests to verify Tukey's differences. The significance level to be adopted will be ± d 5%. For the alternatives, the Statistics® 7.0 software (Stat, Inc.) will be used. (AU)
