Abstract The activity plan proposes the study of robust controllers for linear systems subject to polytopic uncertainties. The static output feedback is considered for the control design. Linear matrix inequalities are used to describe the control synthesis. After a thorough literature review and numerical comparisons on microcomputers, it will be determined which recent formulations are most efficient for the design of robust control with static output feedback. Once the formulations that will be used as reference are chosen, the next step is to extend the results to the design of switched controllers. Recent results in the literature have illustrated that this class of controllers can generate less conservative LMIs, especially in uncertain systems with a high number of matrix vertices. The switching law that will be investigated does not present chattering behavior, preventing physical wear on its practical implementation. In the modelling stage, performance conditions such as decay rate and control effort minimization will be investigated. The theoretical results will be validated in bench tests, for example, in a QUANSER active suspension system, present in the control laboratory. | |
