Abstract

The economic losses and potential health risk, due to contamination by mycotoxins, resulting by the presence of the complex of species Fusarium graminearum (CEFG) in Brazil's barley require severe concern to the agricultural and food sectors. Previous studies show that enormous frequency of contaminated barley can be avoided through genetic improvements towards barley's manipulation, to this end, however, it's primordial to acknowledge more information about the interaction between the species and the host, and a fast characterization of the involved species. For that matter, the goal of this project is to present characterization of CEFG species over vibrational techniques aligned with green analytical chemistry concepts. Apart from analyzing transcriptome to clarify the mechanisms related to pathogenicity of the CEFG belonging species, just as, the molecular defenses presented by a commercial and native barley's specie, therefore, identify possible genes associated in these mechanisms, and with these information in mind, it's possible to initiate a genetic manipulation on commercially produced barley in Brazil reducing the problems derived from the contamination by CEFG
