Abstract

The accelerated expansion of cities over natural environments ends up including the streams in the urban landscape, causing a series of negative effects, among which is the change in the availability of food resources for fish. Thus, the objective of this study is to determine how the urbanization gradient is reflected in the trophic structure of the stream fish fauna in the Upper Tietê River basin. The fishes were collected in 30 microbasins with different percentages of urbanizationcontentes. Up to 30 specimens of 12 species will have their stomach contentes analyzed. The differences in the representativeness of autochthonous and allochthonous resources will be determined together with the differences in the trophic structure along the urban-forest gradient. When observed significant relationship between trophic structure and gradient, the guilds with the greatest contribution to explanation of these diferences will be identified. It is expected that the products obtained from this research will serve as a basis for future conservation actions in streams with high degree of anthropization.
