Abstract

The epidemiological transition with an increase in Chronic Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs), the demographic transition with population aging, and the potential increase in public spending on health are already realities and require new perspectives, policies, and new technological arrangements. Analyzing the health of the elderly population requires adding a multicentric and intersectional look, since studies have already identified that the conjunction of factors produces inequities for the black, aging, suburban and vulnerable population with worse socioeconomic conditions. Health inequities, even considering a universal health system such as SUS, were evidenced during the COVID-19 pandemic, with worse rates for the black and aging population. The hospitalization in SUS may indicate complications, particularly of cardiovascular diseases, and a lower access and use of outpatient health services. Like so, it is necessary to think of the hospital an integral part of the health system, acting in the lines of care and considering the integrality of care can only in network. Thus, this study aims to analyze the racial inequities that reflect in hospital admissions and in the care maps produced in the cardiovascular line, in the last ten years.
