Abstract

In this project we will perform a study on the polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in a sample of galaxies with active nuclei and Starburst, with redshift z d 0.04, selected from Atlas Spitzer. Spectroscopic data in the range of 5-40 ¼m, and spectral synthesis codes, such as the PAhdb, will be used in the identification of possible carries of the Interstellar Diffuse Bands. Furthermore, we will explore possible correlations between parameters such as the ratefragmentation, the degree of ionization, and the type of PAH species with the radiation field hardness, metallicity and other physical properties.
