Abstract

Irregular bodies are objects present throughout the Solar System. Their sizes and shapes make them have different dynamic and physical characteristics, making their study more complex than other objects. There are numerous amounts of bodies that belong to this category, including small satellites, comets and asteroids. Scientific interests in these bodies permeate fields that include factors such as sustaining life on Earth to space mining. Computational methods that describe the dynamics in the neighborhood and on the surface of these objects are already known, however, research involving aspects of the structure of these objects are still the target of increasing interest in the scientific field. This project aims to study aspects involving the internal structure and formation of irregular bodies in the Solar System, seeking to understand how certain phenomena can cause ruptures or deformations in these objects. Computational methods will be used to describe the structural aspects of irregular bodies, considering their material properties and shape. It is hoped that with this work it will be possible to develop tools that help to understand these objects that are of great importance to science and society. (AU)
