Abstract

Firstly, this research internship at the Université de Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines aims to deepen and enrich theoretical-methodological knowledge on various topics concerning my research object: a) cinema and film analysis tools; b) Brazilian culture history, especially on Brazilian Modernism and its reinterpretations throughout the XXth century; c) the field of Cultural History. The choice of the institution is based mainly on the possibility of working under the supervision of Professor Anaïs Fléchet, a Brazilianist specialized in various themes of Cultural History that permeate the XXth century and are directly linked to my thesis' objectives. The internship also predicts the participation in several other seminars, disciplines and research groups in the fields of Cinema and History - especially Cultural History. In addition, the season in France will allow the expansion of the documentary corpus and the inclusion of a new research problem: the foreign reception of The Brazilwood Man, through documentary survey in European archives. Finally, the internship also predicts presentations at academic events and the submission of an article in a French journal. Thus, we aim to establish new contacts and researches' networks abroad, in addition to reinforcing previously established partnerships and, at the same time, disseminating internationally the scientific excellence produced in Brazil and funded by FAPESP.
