Abstract

The present project intends to investigate the production of popular territory consideringthe changes brought by neoliberalism to peripheral economies in the last twodecades. It is intended to look at the implications in brazilian popular territories considering the inauguration of new spatial forms that seek to meet theproductive needs and social aspects of this new time in the world (ARANTES, 2014). The focus of this analysisinvolves collaboration in the construction of a theoretical and conceptual framework that accounts for thepolitical, social and economic transformations of the period, through the production of popular space. Thus, it is intended to think from the concept of "form occupation" in the light of the stateof exception (AGAMBEN, 2004 [2003]) shaped by the current capitalist development.We seek, therefore, to understand this socio-spatial form - the occupation of land - from the point of view ofits production and management.The variety of actors vying for hegemony (GRAMSCI, 1999 [1933]) within theoccupation and its magnetism in the world of productive precarities shape itspotential in the new time of the world. The project seeks to think of occupations aspossible waiting areas (WACQUANT, 2018 [2001] and ARANTES, 2014), having as a pointthe limbic legal condition that structures the social dynamics that produce the formoccupation between the "lightness" of regularization and the "darkness" of eviction, conforming it to agray space (BAUMAN, 2005 [2003]; YIFTACHEL, 2009) and suspended (PETTI, 2007).Thus, the residents of the occupations wait for this outcome, waiting is the only urgency(BAYART, 2004) - which conforms, in itself, the paradigm of the State of Exception in course.
