Abstract

The surgical treatment of the hyperparathyroidism secondary to chronic kidney disease aims adequate levels of parathyroid hormone to allow good bone remodeling in order to avoid the hypoparathyroidism and the persistance of hyperparathyroidism. At Hospital das Clínicas da FMUSP, in 2012, was started a clinical trial comparing different techniques of parathyroidectomy. The goal of this study is to evaluate the function of the parathyroid graft in patients that went under total parathyroidectomy with immeadiate autograft of 45 prathyroid fragments in comparison with those who got the autograft of 90 prathyroid fragments.
