Associated scholarship(s): | 23/18290-7 - STUDY OF LUMINESCENT RESPONSES BY TORAIMS READER IN SILVER-DOPED SODIUM BORATE GLASS, BE.EP.MS |
Abstract Pure lead borate vitreous matrices and doped with silver will be sintered, aiming at their application in the dosimetry of ionizing radiation. After the synthesis, the samples will be characterized with several techniques: the morphological characterization will be done with SEM to determine the size of nanoparticles or silver agglomerates, EDS to verify if there are impurities originating from the reagents and XRD to verify the presence or not of crystalline structures in the matrix. The study of its luminescent response in relation to the dose will be carried out with Optically Stimulated Luminescence (OSL), Thermoluminescence (TL) and fluorescence techniques. In the fluorescence spectra it is intended to verify the bands due to the Ag centers and the matrix components. It is intended to fit the TL and OSL curves using the General Order Kinetics (GOK) model and the fluorescence bands with Gaussian curves. The sample that provides the best luminescent response will be used for field dosimetry in the Mariuá Archipelago, reinforcing the analyzes of Project Proc.2020/08593-8 ("Contribution to the geological, archaeological and biological knowledge of the Mariuá Archipelago, middle Rio Negro - AM"). | |
