Abstract

The theme of homosexuality has occupied more and more space in contemporary historiography.Composed by affectivity and sexuality, this phenomenon has been widely studied from its sexual side. Affectivity is a recent historiographical concern, especially with the emergence of the history of emotions, focused on the place that love and friendship occupy in the composition of homosexuality. This project proposes an internship at Trinity College Dublin to analyse the strong link between affectivity and homosexuality in the life and theology of Aelred of Rievaulx. This link contrasts with the research results we obtained in the analysis of works by Peter Damian and Anselm of Canterbury that deal with homosexuality. The research internship will allow access to documents, studies, and theses unavailable in Brazil, academic contacts with other professionals and researchers specialized in research issues and documentation, in addition to the opportunity to participate in specialized seminars.
