Abstract

This research seeks to analyze the reader that is projected by the editing process of any editorial object, in which an authorship composition takes place. Based on the Discourse Analysis framework, especially on Dominique Maingueneau's formulations about the literary discourse (2006), we focus the notion of creative paratophy that describe the systemic dynamics in which authorship can be established, attesting its "transitivity" by describing the three instances (person, writer, inscriber) as intertwined in a Borromean knot, that build the effect of unity. Adding to this, the study of médiuns proposed by Régis Debray (2000) is articulated to Pierre Bourdieu's researches on publishing market (2018) guiding our investigation of the title "A Vida de Charlotte Brontë", published for the first time in Brazil in 2020 by Pedrazul editorial, more than one hundred and sixty years after its first appearence (1857). This edition offers to the brazilian public, reader of this novelist, the first translation of this biography. We can observe in this editorial object some interesting aspects in the relation between the biographer's authorship, Elizabeth Gaskell, and the biographed's authorship, Charlotte Brontë, who cultivated a friendly relationship during the short period when Brontë enjoyed the fame, a few years before her untimely death. In this way, this research is interested in the scheme of constitution of the biographer's authorship in a relation with the biographed's authorship, delimited by each other, according the positions they assume in a sort of literary field.
