Abstract

Melanoma is a more aggressive type of skin cancer, as it has a high metastatic potential. Despite its low incidence, corresponding to 3% of skin neoplasms in Brazil, it has a fatality rate of approximately 75%. Currently, the best therapies for treating melanoma are alternatives, which are currently the fusion treatment of toxic drugs, especially dacarbazine and platinum-derived compounds. However, the therapeutic effects of these chemotherapeutics are limited by immunosuppression, resistance and high toxicity. In this sense, there is a search for new drugs that are more efficient and less toxic. Complexity complexes are being studied a lot because they present certain characteristics, such as: variable change state (+II, +IV) that help catalyze redox reactions, in addition to the power of binding a kinetics of exchanges, advertisement to drugs of platinum (II) will enable its action in antimicrobial, antiviral, cytotoxic and antitumor functional media. In view of the above, the present study aims to evaluate the antitumor potential of the ruthenium complex [Ru(mtz)(dppe)2]PF6 in a murine melanoma model. For that, analyzes as parameters histology of the tumor tissue; volume, weight and tumor control index. Animals, toxicity, toxicity of animals through body weight survival and biochemical tissue and genotoxicity. This investigation may provide perspectives and the identification of new therapeutic strategies for the treatment of melanoma.
