Abstract

This research project is oriented to the study of one-dimensional Shallow Water Equations, also known as Saint-Venant equations, which consist of a system of hyperbolic balance laws. From a numerical point of view, we propose the computational implementation and application of high-order central finite volume schemes to solve shallow water equations in channels with irregular geometry, allowing for the simulation of flow problems typically found in nature.
