Abstract

Introduction: The pandemic caused by COVID 19 resulted, besides the high mortality, in a contingent of people with sequelae caused by the disease, such as difficulty breathing, tiredness and ageusia, requiring a service that offers an attentive and welcoming look. Objective: In this sense, the objective of this project will be to offer acupuncture services to improve the quality of life of people with COVID-19 sequelae. Methodology: The people served will be SUS users referred by the SUS's network who, after being diagnosed with COVID-19, remain with sequel(s) and are interested in the care. The consultations will be carried out by acupuncturists linked to the Faculty of Dentistry of Piracicaba (FOP). The materials used will be acupuncture needles, moxa sticks and suction cups and it all will be provided by a funding from a FOP project. It will be a set of 5 to 10 acupuncture sessions, using a specific protocol, lasting approximately 1 hour. Each patient will have their quality of life parameters through the WHOQOL-bref instrument which will be applied at the beginning of the project, after the 5th session and after the last session. In addition, the Visual Analogue Scale related to the sequel/sign reported by the patient will be collected before and after all sessions. Expected Results: It is expected that after the completion of the set of sessions, the patient will show signs of improvement in their quality of life and reduction of signs and symptoms related to post-COVID.
