Abstract

In this project, to stimulate scientific vocation, we will use the colloidal deposition of nanoparticles to prepare thin films of alpha-Fe2O3 (hematite) to act as photoanodes to promote the water splitting in its chemical elements, thus generating hydrogen without any footprint of carbon (Green Hydrogen). During the execution of this project, the fellow will learn basic concepts of nanotechnology, such as: colloidal synthesis of nanoparticles, characterization of nanomaterials by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), thin film deposition by dip-coating, X-rays difraction and photoelectrochemical characterization. These concepts will be passed in a planned and didactic way to the candidate, allowing him to travel through the fascinating world of nanotechnology. This project will be carried out in 7 weeks.
