Abstract

The main objective of this project is to test specific inhibitors of protein synthesis in vitro using Trypanosoma cruzi extracts, which can be used for the development of future treatment for Chagas disease. Assays using synthetic messenger RNA and detection of luciferase synthesis by assays have already been standardized in the laboratory. During the scholarship period, the student will be familiarized with the technique and test compounds from the Parasite Box that are part of a DNDi initiative to search for compounds for the treatment of CD.
