Abstract

Cities suffer from large emissions of pollutants that also have a climate impact. The Metroclima project aims to study the role of the city of São Paulo as an emitter of GHGs and other climate impact compounds, with the establishment of measurement and atmospheric modeling stations. This project, which is part of the FAPESP Metroclima theme, aims to study the behavior of CO2 in the urban area of São Paulo, taking it as an observatory and laboratory of what happens in urban areas that are impacted by GHG emissions, pollutants and have different land uses, with vegetated areas and others completely covered by impermeable surfaces.
