Abstract

Understanding and predicting the behavior of citizens when financial incentives such as vouchers and tariff advantages are provided is a difficult task. Factors such as distance, travel time, comfort and weather need to be considered, as well as their interaction with the costs and discounts applied. The objective of thisresearch project is to evaluate the impacts of different variables, such as distance, price, discounts and availability of modes of transportation on the individual probability of choosing different modes of transportation, in a scenario of integration of these different modes. Specifically, we propose to develop identification and estimation tools of demand under personalized pricing (a common feature of car-sharing platforms) and heterogeneity; and to apply these on data provided by the partners of the research center.
