Abstract

This PHD project aims at studying, from different approaches, the thermodynamics, efficiency and statistics of heat engines operating out of equilibrium. Started in the undergraduate project (FAPESP 2021/13287-2), in which we introduced a new class of efficient heat engines operating collectively from ordered arrangements/structures, we intend to advance in this by investigating three different aspects: the extension to different structural arrangements (beyond the "all-to-all" case), the influence of different parameters (interaction between the units, directed forces/$drivings$, system size) and finally we intend to study the statistics of power and efficiency, as well as the existence of different limits ($bounds$) for the same in terms of the moments of thermodynamic observables. Finally, we also intend to study systems from a collisional approach, in which it is exposed sequentially to distinct thermal reservoir and/or thermodynamic process, as well as to draw a comparison with the previous case.
