Abstract

The main objective of this study is to know the experiences of women who went through a near-miss and to understand the impacts of this event on their lives. This is a qualitative study that will follow the methodological framework of Oral History and will have as participants women living in the interior of São Paulo who have experienced near-miss during some phase of the puerperal pregnancy cycle. Data will be collected through individual interviews, following a script of guiding questions based on the reference of thematic oral history. The identification of the first collaborator will be through contact with community leaders and a support group for women. Data analysis will be performed using the oral history framework. Hearing the voices of women who experienced a near miss situation can contribute to the understanding of serious obstetric events, as well as enable the development of strategies towards the continuity of care for people who have experienced this extreme situation.
