Abstract

Suicidal behavior is a complex phenomenon that has attracted the attention of philosophers, theologians, health professionals, sociologists and artists for centuries. When we talk about adolescence and youth, suicide is the second cause of death in the world among young people aged 10 to 24 years, and in Brazil, considering the same age group, it is the fourth cause. There is a growing wave of critical suicide studies researchers and thinkers inviting us to look critically, contextually and historically at suicide research and mainstream suicide prevention practices. In this perspective, the objectives of this project will be to explore, describe and analyze suicide prevention practices in adolescence, identifying those that promote health and those that aggravate suffering, based on the experience of adolescents with suicidal behavior. It will be a qualitative research, with data collection and analysis using the audio drama inquiry methodology. The theoretical framework will be narrative therapy.
