Abstract

We intend to study the effects of quenched disorder on the real-time evolution of interacting quantumsystems when an external parameter is continuously changed. In particular, we focus on the casewhere this parameter brings the system near a quantum phase transition point of the zero-temperaturephase diagram to where Griffiths singularities exist. As these Griffiths singularities are associated togapless excitations of rare atypical configurations of inhomogeneities, we inquire weather and howthese excitations change the clean system dynamics by studying the associated Yang-Lee-Fisher zerosof the Loschmidt echo (a dynamical analog of the partition function). In addition, we intend toinvestigate how the number of topological defects (Kibble-Zureck mechanism) is affected by disorder.
