Abstract

In the face of an increasing number of efficient methodologies for the synthesis of enantiomerically enriched compounds, this project seeks to deepen studies on the intramolecular enantioselective Heck-Matsuda reaction in redox-relay susceptible substrates. Expanding the reactional scope, as well as the mechanistic understanding of this reaction, proves to be indispensable to continue the important advances made by Professor Correia's group in this area of research. Obtaining enantioenriched dihydroindene-1-substituted nuclei comprehends the context of the reaction and makes it possible to achieve these objectives, contributing to the improvement of satisfactory methods for the synthesis of enantioenriched compounds. Effectively, these products allow inferring about the behavior of the methodology based on an evaluation of the effect of substituent groups on the aromatic ring, along with the increase of the carbon chain in its olefinic portion, which will be carried out together with derivatizations of the final products in order to obtain important intermediates of synthetic products in the pharmaceutical/medicinal area.
