Abstract

The research must contribute to mapping the spaces dedicated to the exhibition of "popular art" in Brazil - galleries, museums (community and house-museums) and others - in order to sketch a cartography of these circuits, paying attention to their distribution in time and space, as well as their profiles, the people responsible for their creation and operation, and the modes of operation. The mapping should include public and private institutions, as well as museums and/or exhibition spaces created by the artists/craftsmen in their places of origin and work, which proliferate all over Brazil. Within this broad universe, a more detailed analytical look should be taken at the museum-houses.
