Abstract

Several oral alterations are present in patients with cirrhosis awaiting transplantation and are associated with complications of liver disease. In the face of with manifestations that can generate numerous effects on the experience of the individual waiting for the transplant, analyzing and quantifying the repercussion of changes in the stomatognathic system caused in different areas of the pre-transplant phase becomes essential to understand the profile of the impact of oral health in quality of life. For this purpose, there are tools capable of subjectively measuring these implications, which contributes to understanding the needs of this group and analyzing possible interventions to propose better oral conditions and, consequently, a better state of life.
