Abstract

In 2015, representatives of 193 member states of the United Nations (UN) discussed the global Sustainable Development Goals to be implemented by 2030. Higher education, such as Unesp - Universidade Estadual Paulista (Brazil) and Universidade NOVA de Lisboa (Portugal). Thus, we asked ourselves: "what relationships can be established between theoretical and practical perspectives in the context of Mathematics Education with the UN Sustainable Development Goals?", and we proposed the realization of a doctoral internship through the partnership of Universidade Estadual Paulista and the NOVA University of Lisbon. As a general objective, we established: to discuss the theoretical foundations and research practices in the area of Mathematics Education with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the UN 2030 Agenda, developed in South America and Europe, especially between Brazil and Portugal. On a methodological basis, we adopted a qualitative research approach and Content Analysis techniques to constitute the data analysis, produced in theoretical studies based on bibliographical research and interviews with international researchers who carry out studies and practices in the context of Mathematics Education and the Objectives of Sustainable Development.
