Abstract Additive manufacturing of metallic materials is a relatively new topic and constitutes a revolutionary processing route, particularly when applied to Ti alloys. In this technique, metallic powders are deposited on a surface, layer by layer and in accordance with a digital file. In addition to making it possible to manufacture devices with complex geometries, this technology also allows manipulating the chemical composition of the component and, consequently, make it possible to obtain materials with functional gradients - FGM (functionally graded materials). The objective of this work is to investigate the additive manufacturing of components for implants from powders based on Ti-Nb alloys. It is intended to produce components with functional gradients using additive manufacturing techniques and to verify the nature of the microstructure of this component. This component should present a region of high elastic modulus in its proximal region and low elastic modulus in the distal region. | |
