Abstract

Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have increasingly gained notoriety as a multipurpose technology. In particular, bioinspired UAV is a class of these vehicles with very different characteristics in comparison with those traditional models with rotating or fixed wings. They have flapping wings as a mechanism for lift and thrust, like birds do. In this context, the present project involves the dynamics and control of a bioinspired UAV. The system is described by two degrees of freedom using the state space representation. A feedback controller is designed in the time domain to fly the UAV in a pre-defined trajectory. The project involves numerical simulations to evaluate the approaches employed to control the aerial vehicle.
