Abstract

Digital manufacturing refers to using digital technologies and information systems to improve and optimize manufacturing processes. It is a critical component of Industry 4.0, providing the necessary tools and technologies to achieve intelligent production, preventing loss and damage, and offering security and reliability in industrial projects. In this context, this research aims to propose guidelines to maximize the operational performance of a productive process in the Brazilian aeronautical industry. A case study will be carried out with on-site visits to explore the manufacturing environment, conduct interviews, analyze documents, and collect data on the production process in question. With the help of Siemens Plant Simulation" software, it will be possible to model and simulate this process, creating scenarios that include proposals for improvements. These proposals will be based on the results obtained and on the application of Lean Production techniques and tools. The ultimate goal is to provide competitive advantages for the aeronautical industry in the Brazilian and international markets, boosting efficiency, quality, and competitiveness through digital manufacturing.
