Abstract

The project proposes a study of the Neutral, based on the work Fragments d'un discours amoureux by Roland Barthes. I will take as a principle the definition used by the author in his Le Neutre course: the breaking of language binarity. I will first relate the notion of Neutral with the figure of the lover, which is expressed in the Fragments. In order to establish the neutral-lover relationship, Barthes's critical fortune will be worked on - Éric Marty, Philipe Roger, Leda Tenório da Motta and Claude Coste -, some of the references used in his text, as well as part of the author's own work in which the theme is presented.
