Abstract

Fusariosis is a disease caused by fungi of the genus Fusarium, notable for their extremely aggressive character, being responsible for immense annual losses in economically important crops. The genus Trichoderma is recognized as a natural antagonist of several fungal species, thus acting as an important biological control agent: commercial biofungicides derived from its species act to suppress a wide spectrum of phytopathogens, including those of the genus Fusarium. This work aims to investigate the fungicidal activity of chemical compounds produced by Trichoderma sp. against the phytopathogens Fusarium proliferatum and Fusarium guttiforme, using different experimental cultivation strategies and aiming at the control of these fungi that cause fusariosis.
