Abstract

This work consists of creating a system using computer vision for an autonomous car prototype, previously used for Freescale Cup competitions, sized to identify pedestrians and objects that need to be diverted. The system will be developed in C/C and/or Python programming languages, using a microcontroller board, electronic components for powering the system and sensors, as well as a camera attached to the front of the vehicle, using the OpenCV library to make the identification of pedestrians and objects via computer vision and make the car deviate from identified obstacles. Validation will take place with functional tests of the system embedded in the car prototype, managing to avoid objects without collision.
