Abstract The present study, aims to produce an audiovisual (as a product of field research) of places of deindustrialization in central neighborhoods in São Paulo and Santiago. It intends to be a reflection on the way our societies confront their past to face ongoing environmental, economic and social changes. It is proposed as a deepening of the questions raised during past doctoral research, whose central axis was the elaboration of the audiovisual essay River overflow (HD video, 15', color, 2019). In that research, through an articulation between archival materials, the voice and unpublished images about the rivers Tietê, in São Paulo, and Mapocho, in Santiago, the viewer was instigated to reflect on the floods and the crisis of the developmental model in two Latin American cities. Thus, following the methodology developed during my doctoral studies: a discursive montage between the register - photography, video and writing - and the archive, I propose to deepen the theoretical and methodological tools of interdisciplinary artistic research. The research will be carried out with the Visual and Urban Research Group (VISURB) of UNIFESP. My work with VISURB will allow me to incorporate a dimension of ethnographic practice in which the making of video is constructed as a space for reflection and for convening (MACDOUGALL, 1999), exploring forms of realization in a path that articulates observation, argumentation and exchange between people, environments and territories. | |
