Abstract Introduction: As of 2017, the World Health Organization (WHO) classification included diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) positive, not otherwise specified (LDGCBEBV+) as an entity in the group of aggressive non-Hodgkin lymphomas. EBV is an important virus in the etiopathogenesis of lymphoproliferative diseases, such as the EBV-associated mucocutaneous ulcer, and of lymphomas, such as Hodgkin and Burkitt. In the case of LDGCBEBV+, initially, the disease was understood to be more frequent in the elderly, and currently an increasingly high frequency is observed in younger patients. Objectives: To describe the histological and immunophenotypic aspects of patients diagnosed with LDGCBEBV+. Compare the anatomopathological aspects between patients with LDGCBEBV+ and LDGCBEBV-. Methodology: Cross-sectional and retrospective study with patients diagnosed with LDGCBEBV+ at the Department of Pathological Anatomy of the AC Camargo Cancer Center, between 2014 and 2022. Review of histological slides seeking to characterize the patterns (monomorphic, polymorphic, centroblastic, immunoblastic, anaplastic, Hodgkin- simile). Review of immunohistochemistry slides and their respective reports, aiming at classification by the Hans algorithm and positivity for CD30, MYC, BCL2 and EBV (LMP-1). | |
