Abstract

The gnoseological reflection theory is characterized as one of the general foundations of the historical-dialectical materialism epistemology. However, its effective apprehension is problematized by Shuare (2017) when denouncing, in the field of Psychology, the false correspondences made between such theory and the understandings of epiphenomenal and behavioral reflection. The problem denounced by the author is deepened when faced with the contradictions between Leontiev and Rubinstein on the conceptualization of reflection articulated to the theory of activity within the theoretical-conceptual framework of Soviet Psychology. Through the texts of the mentioned authors, a theoretical debate is observed among the soviet psychologists, in which one refers critically to the limitations of other's formulations. In this sense, given the absence of bibliography that synthesizes the principle of reflection in the face of the contradiction between thoese soviet theorists of activity, this research aims to understand the role of reflection theory within the theoretical-conceptual foundation of Soviet Psychology through the writings of Leontiev and Rubinstein. Based on contributions on method by Marx (2008), Vygotsky (1999), and Delari Junior (2009), it is proposed to analyze the objectivity of the soviet psychologists' statements in order to reconstruct each author's motivated thought on the philosophical category under study and thus synthesize a general conceptualization of this philosophical category. For this purpose, two readings of the selected materials will be made, one unsystematic and one systematic, producing, in the end, notes that will allow to reconstruct, analyze, and overcome the authors' cognitive movement, unveiling, in a general synthesis, the role of reflection theory in Soviet Psychology.
